Road Relocation

Mt. Airy – Surry County Airport, Mt. Airy, North Carolina

Design of approximately 1 mile of road relocation for Holly Springs Road to accommodate the extension of Runway 18-36 and the parallel taxiway.  Approximate engineers estimated cost for the project is $5.0 million for the road relocation.  This project was designed to NCDOT standards.  Project included quantity take-offs, pavement design, specifications, grading, storm drainage and culvert installation, erosion control, coordination and permitting with NC Department of Land Quality, NC Department of Water Quality and Army Corp of Engineers for erosion control, storm water management and wetland impacts.

Westlake Aggregates, Vulcan Materials Company

Stafford County, Virginia

Design of six mile, two-lane road. Included roadway design and modeling to VDOT standards, storm water design/analysis and modeling, grading and erosion control, and permitting. Design of culvert creek crossings.

Lake Park Drive

Kannapolis, North Carolina

New road project for access to new Lake Park Drive Elementary School. Included storm water design/analysis and modeling, culvert creek crossing, roadway design and modeling, grading and erosion control, sanitary sewer design/analysis and modeling, water distribution design, and permitting.

Bridge Replacement

Glenn Avenue, Kannapolis, North Carolina

Design of new approaches for one half-mile, two-lane road with bridge replacement design input. Project included storm drainage and erosion control componen

S-Line Urban Trail

Jacksonville, Florida

Design of approximately 4 miles of paved dual use greenway trail for the City of Jacksonville. Project included trail design and modeling, grading, erosion control, storm drainage, quantity take-offs and permitting.

Gable Oaks Subdivision

Cabarrus County, North Carolina

Sixty-five lot site development project for Phase III of Gable Oaks Subdivision. Included grading and erosion control, stormwater design/analysis and modeling, roadway design and modeling, sanitary sewer design/analysis and modeling, and water distribution design.

Roberta Woods Subdivision Phases I & II

Cabarrus County, North Carolina

Sixty-six lot site development project for Phase I & II of Roberta Woods Subdivision.  Project included grading and erosion control, stormwater design/analysis and modeling, roadway design and modeling, sanitary sewer design/analysis and modeling, and water distribution design.

Riverpointe Subdivision

Kannapolis, North Carolina

Project engineer responsible for site/civil drawings and agency approvals for Phase 1 of an 850 lot residential subdivision. Design includes mass grading, storm drainage, erosion control, road design and 100-year flood study for main road creek crossing. Submittal packages were prepared for the Town of Kannapolis and NCDOT for site layout, storm drainage, water and sewer, and driveway/entrance permits for approval.

Yellow Bluff Subdivision

Jacksonville, Florida

Project engineer responsible for site/civil drawings and agency approvals for a 680 lot residential subdivision. Design includes mass grading, fine grading of lots, storm drainage, erosion control, road design, water and sewer design, and eight wet ponds interconnected to function as one system for retention/detention purposes. Road improvements to the existing city and state roads including storm drainage and turn lanes were designed to meet ingress/egress requirements for the proposed traffic increase by the subdivision. Submittal packages were prepared for the St. John’s River Water Management District – SJRWMD, City of Jacksonville, Jacksonville Electric Authority -JEA (Electric, water and sewer submittals) and FDOT for site layout, storm drainage, water and sewer, offsite utility and driveway/entrance permits for approval

Oak Lake Boulevard for Charlotte Douglas International Airport

Charlotte, North Carolina

Preliminary design of approximately 3500 LF of two lane commercial road, horizontal and vertical alignment, storm drainage, culvert analysis and design, and grading to minimize wetlands impacts at culvert crossing were included in this project.

Blast Pad, Apron Expansion & Fencing for Statesville Regional Airport

Statesville, North Carolina

Design of a Blast Pad for Runway 28, approximately 7,400 lf of 8 foot high chain link fencing, and approximately 11,000 sf of concrete apron expansion.  Approximate cost for the three projects was $550,000.  This project was designed to FAA standards for a dual-wheel aircraft weighing 100,000 pounds for the concrete apron expansion.  Project included pavement design, specifications, grading, striping and marking, erosion control, quantity take-offs, engineer’s estimate and bid package.
